Vanessa Poole, strong, highly experienced, character actor, stage actor, voiceover artist, speaks native BBC English (RP) and fluent Swedish. She is based in Malmö/ Copenhagen, started working professionally recording English radio plays for schools at the age of 8 in Malta and has over 30 years experience of acting in English.

Vanessa was one of the original founding members of Down the Rabbithole Theatre in Copenhagen (https://www.rabbithole.dk ), has worked for HIT House of International Theatre in Copenhagen and is board member of Playmate Theatre Malmö in Sweden. www.playmatetheatremalmo.co

Vanessa is equally at home playing drama or comedy. She works regularly in English-language theatre in critically-acclaimed lead roles in Sweden, Denmark and occasionally Hamburg. Most recently at prestigious Teatret ved Sorte Hest in Copenhagen.

She has over the years amassed a vast range of acting experience, played lead roles, secondary roles in classic and contemporary theatre, starting out with chorus parts, childrens' theatre, pantomime and Shakespeare. She is voiceover artist for clients such as Candy Crush, Tetra Pak, Ikea, Binogi education video global, UNESCO documentaries and more.

Autumn 2024 Vanessa plays joint lead Clare in the English-language Nordic premiere of Tennessee Williams' THE TWO CHARACTER PLAY in Malmö. Directed by Lars Junggreen (DK).

Spring 2025 Vanessa plays joint lead Linda in THE THIN PLACE by Broadway sensation Lucas Hnath at Teatret ved Sorte Hest, Copenhagen. Directed by Christoffer Berdal (DK).

Vanessa was named one of the "Top Five English-Language Trailblazers 2015" in theatre in Denmark by The Copenhagen Post newspaper.

She has attended acting courses, workshops and scene study classes in English on voice, movement, drama and speech in Sweden, Denmark and the UK, including masterclasses with Patsy Rodenburg, Kirk Baltz, Judy Kuhn & Declan Donnelan, with Barbara Houseman in 2021, and at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama,London.

When not performing, Vanessa also teaches college-level English, theatre and delivers corporate training.
